Tissue Tightening

Today cosmetic treatments are gaining tremendous acceptance as they are non-invasive, totally safe, and done in professionally verified ways. People are now more confident in enhancing their appearance as such treatments not only alter the skin texture superficially but also heal the underlying skin condition that led to poor skin health in the first place.

People have also started understanding that early intervention with such minimally invasive procedures will help them retain youthful looks for a long time without any side effects.

A common problem that most people face today is saggy skin. Unavoidable elements like pollution, stress, gravity, and continuous facial muscle movements cause the skin to become stretchy and saggy. Other factors like sudden weight loss and pregnancy also contribute to it.

This is where Tissue Tightening treatment helps as it reduces localized fat in any part of the body.

What is Tissue Tightening?

All of us are born with rich levels of elastin and collagen proteins in our skin. Our body also keeps producing these proteins consistently. The process of holding the skin structure and maintaining elasticity is handled by them. As we grow older, the speed of producing these proteins reduces, which results in the reduction of skin elasticity.

The production of collagen and elastin is stimulated by Tissue Tightening treatments. This improves skin texture and tone. The Tissue Tightening procedure is a non-surgical and totally safe procedure where we use infrared light or radio frequencies to tighten and contract the skin tissue. As the light hits the skin, it causes collagen in the dermis layer of the skin to contract, which in turn tightens the skin. Also, deep heating of skin can make the collagen in the skin contract even further, bringing in more improvements over time.

Types of Tissue Tightening

Here are three major types of Tissue Tightening treatments –

Radiofrequency

In this type, controlled radiofrequency waves are applied to the skin. Different types of advanced technologies like Exilis, Thermalife, and Thermage are used for this treatment. Thermalife is the first technology to use the ‘waking up’ concept, which is nothing but restoring the lost collagen to tighten the skin.

This treatment doesn’t require any anesthetics, and also there is no recovery time. Most people who are undergoing Thermage treatment require only one sitting, but some might need multiple sessions. The other two radiofrequency treatments require more than one session of treatment. However, results would be noticeable only after a few months.

Intense pulse light

The technology used in this treatment is called Velashape. It is a handheld device that releases infrared rays into skin layers. This would break the fat deposits inside the skin, thus shrinking the fat cells from that part of the body. Even this treatment doesn’t require any anesthetics, and you would need several sessions to get visible results.

Ultrasound therapy

This can be done in the comfort of your home. However, we strongly recommend you consult a dermatologist before doing this treatment. In this, ultrasound waves are used to penetrate deep into the skin to stimulate the production of collagen.

Who needs Tissue Tightening?

Non-surgical Tissue Tightening treatment is usually best suited for candidates who have mild to moderate skin laxity. They do not need any major cosmetic surgeries like skin lifting. Apart from tightening the skin on the face, the procedure can also be performed in other parts of the body like the abdomen. It will help reduce fat, remove unwanted hair, and smoothen cellulite. It can treat the following conditions –

  • Reduce double chin
  • Reduce stretch marks
  • Shrink love handles
  • Reduce saddlebags
  • Reduce cellulite
  • Tighten lax skin on the abdomen
  • Reduce belly bulge
  • Rejuvenate vaginal tissues
  • Smooth and firm the thighs
  • Remove unwanted hair

Is Tissue Tightening painful?

This is a non-invasive procedure and would not need any anesthetic. Most patients do not feel any pain during the procedure. However, there might be a little discomfort in the form of mild heat being applied to the naked skin. This pain will also disappear within a few minutes.

What to expect after Tissue Tightening?

There is no downtime or recovery time needed after the Tissue Tightening treatment. You can switch to your normal routine as soon as the treatment is complete. One might usually find mild swelling and/or redness in the area that has been treated. Both the swelling and redness would go away after a few hours.

Based on your treatment and the expected results, you might need multiple sessions of treatment. When you visit us, we will recommend the ideal number of sessions and the frequency required to achieve the desired result. But it is important to remember that the results of Tissue Tightening treatment will not be visible overnight. It will take three to six months to have visible effects on your skin.
