Micropigmentation

‘Makeup’ is the first thing that comes to our mind whenever we want to look good. However, applying makeup and then later removing it is a time-hungry process. Also, as the day progresses, your face will start losing its sheen due to sweat, heat, and many other factors. And the worst part – most makeup products are replete with chemicals that can damage your skin in the long run.

Now, what if there exists a makeup that’s permanent and devoid of chemicals.

Enter Micropigmentation.

What is Micropigmentation?

Micropigmentation is a cosmetic procedure that is used to enhance the different features of a person’s face. It is also known as cosmetic tattooing, permanent makeup, and dermal pigmentation. Micropigmentation is primarily used to improve how your eyebrows, lips, and eyelids,  look. This replaces or improves the lost coloring in your skin, improves/camouflages scars, and even out skin coloring. Scalp micropigmentation is a similar technique used in advanced baldness and cases of hair thinning with scalp visibility wherein the pigment gives an illusion of fuller hair.

The process of micropigmentation is very similar to that of tattooing; We will insert a colored pigment using a device with needles (like a tattoo gun) into your skin’s surface. The pigment used is completely natural and medically designed for a safe micropigmentation process. The needle will penetrate a few millimeters into the middle layer of the dermis. The entire procedure only takes only 30-60 minutes.

Who needs Micropigmentation?

Micropigmentation procedure can be undertaken by anyone irrespective of gender. It is perfect for those seeking –

  • Well shaped and thick, dark  eyebrows
  • Rich-colored and well-defined lips
  • Enhance eyelids(permanent eyeliner) and eyelashes
  • Scarless skin

We also suggest micropigmentation as a solution for the following conditions –

  • As a follow-up surgery after facial reconstructive surgery
  • To replace the eyebrows that are thinning due to underlying medical conditions or age
  • Vitiligo patients can use this treatment to camouflage the lack of skin color.
  • To recreate the area around the areola after breast surgery.
  • If you have allergies to traditional makeup

Is Micropigmentation painful?

Most of our patients feel the same pain that they would feel while getting a tattoo. Since some people cannot tolerate this pain, we use an anesthetic to numb the skin before carrying out the procedure. This way, you will not feel any pain and will be comfortable throughout the procedure.

What to expect after Micropigmentation?

There is little to no downtime after undergoing a micropigmentation treatment. You can get back to work and resume your regular activities immediately after the procedure.

You will also notice that the treated area is looking darker, but this should subside soon. In rare cases, you might experience some swelling in the treated area. And if the procedure was carried out near your eyes, then there is a possibility of getting tears. We will provide medication to reduce both the swelling and tears.

After the procedure, treat the area with antiseptics to keep it clean. We will also give you an ointment to promote healing. In some special cases, we will cover the treated area in bandages for a few hours. It would take two to four weeks for the treated area to heal fully. Like any other cosmetic procedure, try to avoid sunlight as much as possible for at least a week post the procedure.
